How to Install NetXcel – Step-by-Step Installation Guide
Learn how to install the NetXcel Excel Add-in from the Office Add-ins Store or using a custom manifest. This guide focuses only on installation. For setup and first use, see our Getting Started Guide.
Prerequisites
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, macOS (latest recommended)
- Excel Versions: Microsoft 365 Excel, Excel 2016 or newer, Excel for Web
- Requirements: Internet connection and access to the Office Add-ins store or permission to upload manifests
Install NetXcel from the Office Add-ins Store
Follow these quick steps to install the NetXcel add-in inside Microsoft Excel:
- Go to the Home tab in the Excel ribbon.
- Click the Add-ins icon on the right side of the toolbar.
- Search for “NetXcel” in the Add-ins panel and click Add.
Note: After installation, NetXcel will open in the right-side taskpane. If it doesn’t, go to
Home → Add-ins → NetXcel.Install Using Custom Manifest (Optional)
If your organization uses a private or development build, follow these steps:
- Obtain the
netxcel.xmlmanifest file from Maayins Technologies. - In Excel, go to
Insert → Office Add-ins → My Add-ins → Upload My Add-in. - Upload the XML file and restart Excel if needed.
Troubleshooting
- Add-in not visible: Restart Excel, ensure you’re signed in with a valid Microsoft 365 account.
- Office Add-ins store blocked: Ask IT to whitelist the Store, or use the manifest method.
- Cannot upload manifest: Check Excel Trust Center settings and verify permissions.
